Why Smart Supplementation Matters
Your health depends on many factors, some of which you can control and others you cannot. The world we live in can create many obstacles for our overall health. Many of us suffer from high-stress jobs, a lack of exercise, nutrient-deficient diets, and exposure to toxins.
All diseases and health are fundamentally linked to cellular health. If our cellular health is optimized, we are less likely to struggle with illness.
Nutrient Deficiencies
The majority of American adults over the age of 19 are not meeting their daily requirements for vitamin A, D, C, and E, as well as magnesium and calcium.
- 95% are vitamin D deficient
- 94% are vitamin E deficient
- 61% are Magnesium deficient
- 57% are vitamin A deficient
- 49% are calcium deficient
What happens when nutrient needs are not met?
Nutrient deficiencies can lead to more serious health issues and can worsen existing health conditions. We are more likely to see an increase in fatigue and weakened bones, and damage to our cardiovascular system. It can also impact our mental health.
Signs you have a vitamin deficiency:
- Lack of energy, fatigue, mood, irritability
- Lowered immune function
- Bone health, joint discomfort
- Dry Skin, hair breakage or lackluster hair, brittle nails
“I eat a healthy diet, so I don’t need to supplement.”
This is a common misconception. However, our food is not as nutrient-dense as it once was. This is because of many factors, but one of the big ones is soil depletion. A second is an increase in chemicals to generate higher yields. The apple that our grandmother ate was 6 times more nutritious than what we have access to today. The nutritional recommendations for fruits and veggies is not 9-12 to make up for the loss in nutrients. Do you eat that many every day?I
Inflammation
It is increasingly hard to stay away from processed foods entirely. Not to mention that most of the food we consume are pro-inflammatory. Inflammation has been linked to many illnesses and in fact, it can be said that inflammation is the root cause of most diseases. When we eat pro-inflammatory foods, it causes our bodies to have an inflammatory response. So, what do we do? How do we fuel our bodies and combat the issues with our food? doTERRA’s response to that problem is the Lifelong Vitality Supplements, coupled with lifestyle changes.
